Fitted 1st set in 2001. The irons brought my game back to a steady 10 handicap. Moved to Chiang Mai, Thailand in 2005 and have returned several time for adjustments for useage. Now in 2008 have returned from Thailand for a new set with the same superb service.
I went to see Rod in February of 2011 based on a recommendation from Fred Heym, an old friend now living in North Myrtle Beach, SC. Rod had built a set of clubs for Fred and he loves them. I originally wanted him to put a good set of shafts on my existing Callaway X12 Irons and he was going to do that but he wanted to see me swing the Callaway Irons on the range first.
He took me out to the range and I hit my Callaway Irons and 4-5 different club/shaft combination that Rod brought out for about 30-45 minutes while he checked out my swing from different angles.
I am a good iron player but horrible with fairway woods. Rod said he could fix that and HE DID! I decided against re-shafting the Calloway Irons and so Rod built me a set of 5-PW Infiniti Irons with frequency matched Matrix Studio 94 graphite shafts “Made in America” plus a Wishon Golf 16.5 degree 949 MC Fairway 4 Wood with an Aerotech Steel Fiber ss75 Steel Fiber composite shaft. I love these irons and I hit them consistently high and where I should. They feel very consistent and solid and each club feels exactly like the next. You never get that feel with off the rack clubs and I should know, I’ve had them all. Best feeling irons ever. I’m getting a consistent 5 yard draw with each iron. As for the 4 wood, I am finally getting some confidence with a fairway wood and I am consistently getting the ball off the ground and into the air and I’m getting very good distance as well. I wore the sole off my previous fairway woods skulling the ball all over the place. Not now!
These irons Rod built for me are so good that I went down in late March 2011 and ordered a duplicate set with the same specs in case one of the airlines lost or broke my first set. Rod gave me a great price and shipped them to me in Northern New York State, with no shipping charges. They are the exact same clubs in every detail as my first set. Rod keeps all of your specs on file in case you need another set or a club is lost or broken. Just give him a call. Rod is a real gentleman and he says what he’ll do and then he actually does it. I went to Championship Golf to get my clubs re-griped. Started to talk with Rod about some of the problems I was having with my game. I needed more height and distance. Rod and I went over to the Driving Range where he worked with me. I bought Pitching Wedge thru 3 iron. I have never hit a golf ball as good as I am right now. Hitting the golf ball about 10 to 15 yards further and the height is perfect. The clubs feel perfect with the same shaft flex. I recommend Rod. His is willing to work with you on fixing your club problems
I recently purchased a NEW SET of irons from Rod Gainer of Championship Golf. Rod had let me swing one of these clubs previously and they really felt good. The ball flew longer than with my Callaway’s. With the NEW STEEL/FIBER SHAFT and the Infiniti heads, it was a great combination for me. Rod did an excellent job with shaft choice, lie angle, etc...matching my swing. Of all the clubs I have owned, this set is by FAR most suitable for me. If I could not buy anymore clubs, I would not let these go at any price. They are that good. I would also like to say these clubs are HOT! I am 60 years old and need all the help I can get. These clubs are the real deal. I recommend anyone to let Rod show you what he has to offer. Rod really knows how to build clubs to FIT your swing. You will not be disappointed.
This is the first set of clubs that I ever had custom fitted to my height and swing speed. By having the shafts made a half inch longer I go down and hit the ball more consistently than ever before. I like Dan and he has really influenced my game a lot too. He has really helped me with my alingment and set up and to not cut across the ball. He also taught that the most common mistakes are not even when you swing. I recommend him to all ages of golfers.

I had the opportunity to take (2) golf lessons from Dan Poling, starting on November 18th. It was a very chilly day. To give some history of my golfing career, I have been playing some 25 years, after mostly playing baseball for probably 35 years or so. I am currently living in upper New York State, and play golf during our seasonal months. I bought a home in Myrtle Beach last fall and joined the Senior Citizen group which gave me the opportunity to play the many courses in Myrtle Beach, including Tupelo Bay, located in Garden City, SC. My wife and I played Tupelo Bay several times during the years before we bought our home. My wife scored a hole-in-one at Tupelo Bay in September 2004. I got an e-mail from the Senior Center giving us the opportunity to take one hour golf lesson, with the second lesson free. I went over and made an appointment with Dan for the very same day. I warmed up before my appointment and Dan came over with his clipboard and asked me some routine questions when interviewing a new student. He asked me to hit some shots, in which I did so, and he said, "You played baseball didn't you?" "Oh yeah," was my reply. Dan was very patient with my inconsistencies, in which was my goal, as far as what I was to correct during my lessons. Dan was very demonstrative. He knew the golf swing and showed me how to fix my flaws, through the drills he provided and was very supportive in my good shots during this lesson. I felt very comfortable with Dan, and he made it fun for me. I took this lesson, and then practiced his recommendations at the range, and then to the golf course itself. Of course, it felt strange making these changes, but I stuck with it. I shot an 82 the first time out, and arranged a second lesson with Dan and reported to him, what I had done, in which he told me that he was not surprised at my score. This input gave me even more confidence to grind out these learning's and reach my goal to be more consistent on the course. I made my second appointment with Dan and asked for work on my short game which involved pitching, chipping,, and putting. This lesson turned out to be even more fun than the first, as we went through "the around the green work," and then back to Dan's teaching area for the pitching aspects of the game. Here, after Dan's input on pitching, we got involved in a little game of piching at certain targets, and distances, which turned out to be like game day situations (a little pressure) which was fun, and I learned probably what has been such an inconsistent flaw in that aspect of the game. I am looking so forward of having continuing lessons with Dan, as I am returning to Myrtle Beach in several weeks, Please let me say, that Tupelo Bay has a very professional, courteous, and dedicated golf teacher at your course, and I will surely recommend Dan to people I meet in Myrtle Beach. He is a credit to your organization.
"When I arrived in Myrtle Beach, in Mid-OCtober, my golf game was non-existant. It didn't take Dan long to pinpoint my swing flaws. He then worked with me to correct these flaws. "For years I had to deal with a severe slice. It took distance off my drive and was only efficient on a "dog leg right". Several instructors had worked with me on this fundamental flaw in my swing, but no one was effective in helping me correct it.
